How to wrap gifts for Christmas

Went to the city center this morning - Christmas decoration everywhere, large Christmas tree on the main square, stands with Gluhwein, sausages, decoration, gifts
placed in nearby streets. How can I not think on gifts - what to make, what to buy, how to wrap (and upcycle)?

Old magazine + burlap = Gift wrapping

Old magazines and burlap - perfect combination and source of inspiration. Add
pinecone and ivy, stich a little bit  and gift is wrapped.

Burlap + branches = Christmas tree on the gift

Burlap again - I just love burlap and old coffe or grain sacks. Few hot glue branches make the magic.

Jump to see more detailed 'How to' for the both examples!

Material:

- old magazine or newspaper
- piece of burlap
- paper card (or any piece of paper)
- glue
- scissors

Additional (optional):

- pinecone
- ivy
- straw

How to wrap the gift

card glued on burlap

Glue card (paper) on burlap to make the stiching easier. You can cut some shape of the card (as I did). Then stich around the card with zig-zag stich.

Free stich also the wrapping paper taken from newspapers/magazine.

Wrap the gift and tie the straw around it. Add pinecone and ivory and, voila, gift is ready, even Santa would be happy with the result.

Burlap + branches wrap

 Material:

- piece of burlap
- twig
- hot-glue pistol (or any other glue)
- tulip 3D paints (optional)
- string

How to wrap the gift

Cut a piece of burlap - size depends on the gift. Wrap it around and temporarily fasten with the tape.

Then tie the string around the gift - on both ends and remove tape.

Cut the twig on six pieces (or more, if necessary)  each of them 0,5 cm smaller then previous one. Size of the largest depend on the gift width. Arrange pieces on the gift to get the impression and when happy, hot glue them on the burlap (some other glue could be used as well).

At the end, decorate twigs with 3D paint (I used pearl Tulip paints). In 10 minutes I got astonished result. Can't wait till Christmas to put it under the tree.
